Petaling Street

This area of town called Petaling Street is also known as Chinatown. It is located in heart of Malaysia's capital city Kuala Lumpur.
Local inhabitants particularly the Cantonese speaking chinese refer to it as Chi-Cheong-Kai (in Cantonese).
It is a street of about 250 meters that is famous for merchandise such as clothing and accessories, and bootleg DVDs and CDs.
Some tips for visitors: Always haggle when buying items such as bags, clothes, shoes or watches.
Rule of thumb: push the starting price down by half. Then meet the price around half way up (eg: 75% of the cost).
There are many restaurants and food stalls at both side of the street. Local dishes are such as Hokkien Mee, Curry Noodles, Barbequed Fish, Assam Laksa, Ham Chin Peng.
